This book was just bad. Alexa spends her life pretending to be a boy (Really? That many people are going to fall for it?) and degrading all feminine parts of her. The self-loathing didn't change until the pretty boys told her she was beautiful and she was still pretty hateful about herself which doesn't seem to be a very good moral. The plot was shaky, it was really just Alexa trusts the prince, she finds out he lied to her, she forgives him and things about his chest. Over and over again. There are so many empowering, creative, strong young adult fantasy books out there to read, this one was just not one of them.
