DNF at 25%.
I can handle a book being slow to start off, but everything felt so repetitive. It also feels patronizing as a reader when the narrative explains to you three times on one page why a development in the plot is bad, in addition to the multiple similar explanations you had before that point, instead of letting you connect the dots yourself. Lots of tell-don’t-show in general, and overall the writing just felt very early-draft and amateur-ish.
