Not one of my favourite paranormal romances from Nora Roberts. This is about a vampire vs human war, with several people coming from the 12th/13th century via portal and there is a goddess involved too. My main problem with this is that I didn't really care about the fighters. Well I found myself caring about King, after he apologised, and his friendship with Moira as he seemed to be making an effort to fit into the team, unlike Cian. And then he died and got turned into a vampire, all to further Cian's guilt and to be Glenna's reminder to take the fight seriously. So I wasn't happy about that turn of events. (Also the only black character in the group to be impulsively violent and die for a white character's pain is not a good look at all.)
I'm curious about where the fight from Lilith goes from here, especially with all the fighters involved. I did like the friendships in this, though Cian could die and I wouldn't care one bit, and the romance itself was nothing particularly endearing. I would continue with the series if I saw the next book in the library but that is mostly because it's Nora Roberts.
