Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mt. Everest Disaster by Jon Krakauer

5.0

I rarely read non-fiction books, and I've never been interested in Everest or climbing in general, so it surprised me how much this book hooked me. Jon Krakauer is such an interesting and empathetic author. There are elements of the story about his memory and storytelling process that I can't stop talking about. I read this on a beach in North Carolina in 90 degree weather, about as far from the peak of Everest as you can get, but I was completely engrossed.
