Defy Me by Tahereh Mafi

3.0

This book fell a little short for me in the first half but after we got over the hump I ended up really enjoying this one! Though it certainly isn't my favourite in the series

Hard to believe I'm almost finished with all of these books, but Mafi's writing is addicting and I find myself easily lost in the world of Shatter Me, even if I do get easily annoyed with Juliette. I did find myself more impressed with her in this book, and maybe it's because I got to read from other people's POV's and got a break from her, but whatever the case I liked her in this book. That scene with Evie especially, if you know you know.

I am a full Warner fan, no doubt about that. It's crazy to me how I used to not understand how he went from such a monster to a fan favourite, but I get it now. Even if sometimes he's an idiot. Kenji as well was so nice to read from the mind of, he's the comic relief but he's also carrying this entire franchise on his back lets be fr. He's the emotional support to literally all of them.

Plot wise this book gave us a lot more details on this world and the entire story as a whole, I love filling in holes, but I feel like there's still so much to learn or to overcome that I'm hoping the next installment will clear up.
