4.5* rounded up to 5 because the character were so amazing and I got so attached. My feelings for each character changed several times throughout the novel. The only other reason it isn't immediate 5 is the novel was a little slow towards the middle range then it picks up again.
My favorite character was initially Beth and how much she changed throughout the novel, but I still can't quite get over what she did. I also loved Francis and Mab, Mab became my favorite character after Beth's betrayal. Mab and Beth went through the most heartbreak and Osla probably has the most trauma from bombs and air raids. I love a novel with strong women protagonists and this one did not disappoint.
I learned so much about code breaking and Bletchley Park, which I knew nothing about, and now I want to go visit it.
