A book that simply did not live up to its potential.
The author has done a great job tackling performative activism and allyship but the main character was uninteresting to the point where it felt like a drag to read this book which otherwise I was hoping would be my top read.
My main issue was with the fact that the characters felt very one-dimensional and while the story is an important one, I wish we could've explored the minds of the characters more, especially with Emira.
