Deep in the Heart of Trouble by Deeanne Gist
3.0
I almost decided to donate this book. I had finished most of the book, merely 50-60 pages remained. I admit to frustration at the all too predictable narrative and the baffling change in Essie's character. Essie in this book changed considerably from the first book almost to the point beyond the suspension of disbelief. However, when I picked the book back up this evening to finish, I slowed down and rather enjoyed the remainder of the bood despite its predictability. Classic literature this is not. A fun, easy read that avoids the lowest of terrible literature? This hits the spot. This book, barely, survives round two of the purge from my personal collection.
