Okayyyyyyyy so! There’s that! Hm idek what to say right now but okay! Dude that ending where like everyone got captured/killed???? No thank you like babe how tf are we gonna come back from that?! Especially the Dorian thing omfg no that’s horrible. Also, Celaena is so dumb for going back as Celaena, like wtf is she going to do ugh especially now that everyone has been captured?! Like of course she doesn’t know that but like she needed to listen to Rowan because I am so dreading what happens next when she returns to Adarlan. There was so much pain & heartbreak in this book, and it did well to build up the past & explain the personalities of the characters. I really like Rowan, and despite all my claims on the last novel, I truly think it is right for Celaena and Chaol to move on from each other, as they are both so different now from the people they fell for. I really liked the introduction of Aedion and both his & Dorian’s character developments took place throughout the novel. When it comes to Manon, I really didn’t like her at first. I thought her first chapter was interesting, but then I lowkey was just skimming her chapters until she got Abraxos. I’m slightly interested in seeing where her plot line goes and how it will eventually & inevitably cross paths with Celaena’s or the others, but I’m not completely sold on the whole witches thing yet. I really did like the morality & defiance & trickery she displayed, when it came to saving Petrah and Abraxos, as well as when she tricked the spiders. I think that each character did a lot of growing and moving on throughout this book, and I am slightly apprehensive about reading the next one, as it is sure to bring more heartache.
