The Deep End of the Ocean by Jacquelyn Mitchard
2.0

It was a challenging and honest look at how a non-religious family would handle a devastating tragedy. None of the characters were evil, but also none were sympathetic. I suppose that goes with the territory of an honest portrayal of tragedy.

I actively disliked most of the cast of characters. There was also a chapter in the first half of the book that ended with uncomfortably sexual descriptions of the mother's children by the mother that almost made me quit the book.

I think that this book was well written and extremely well reasoned, but it was not for me.
