The bone spurs are a metaphor for the MBTA green line.
The sharks and their teeth are a metaphor for the toe pick on figure skates.
The lions are a metaphor for lions.
From a "quality of prose" perspective this is like 3-stars or higher, I just didn't enjoy/didn't get much out of reading the book.
