Thor: God of Thunder, Volume 1: The God Butcher by Jason Aaron

5.0

This is the first "old" Thor volume that I've read and it did not disappoint. The appealing thing about Thor compared to other Superhero characters is the God and Immortal side and this story tells that perfectly. It deals with a man realizing that a mistake a millennia old is coming back to haunt him. I particularly loved the part where Thor discusses the nature of being immortal and the affect that it has on memories and experiences. To top off all of that you get Thor before the hammer, the Thor we all know, and King Thor all in one volume. There wasn't anything for me to dislike in this story and look forward to the next volume.
