Jilted Jock by Rebecca Jenshak

4.0

Jilted Jock is my second reading from a new to me author. This is one of the books written in the Cocky Bastard world of Ward/ Keeland and by its title, you get Finn, famous soccer player who got jilted on his much anticipated wedding of the year. Drunk and broken by his teammate and ex-fiancee's betrayal, he wound up holing up with his friend's sister's apartment. Adele is recovering and meeting someone like Finn, is beyond temptation. Still, she understood what Finn was going through and offered her help. Although there was instant attraction between characters, I was glad that the author took the slow burn path to build it up to the enduring, true love that they had in the end. I loved how Finn didn't easily give up and prove himself worthy of Adele. At the same time, I loved how Adele stayed firm in her resolve. I get that she doubted Finn and I admire that she took her time analyzing things. This is another great sports romance read that I will highly recommend to fans of this trope.
