Tbh, this isn't a very gripping read, and you can't help feeling he could have made more of the premise and injected more humour into it. But not to worry, what we have instead is a pretty solid road map towards reconstituting a working civilisation out of the ruins of the last. Scavenging old tech is covered, as are the basics of farming, navigation, medicine and industrial chemistry. So I won't be reading it again for enjoyment, but when the Zombie Apocalypse comes, it'll be one of the books I stick in my backpack, just before I grab my chainsaw and head for the hills.
