The Hollow
by Jessica Verday
Disappointing to say the least. The conclusion didn't resolve anything for me. It left Abbey's story in limbo, and not in a cliff-hanger-leaves-you-begging-for-more way either.
The dialogue felt very cardboard and unrealistic. The transitions were noticeably rough as well, moving between suspenseful scenes with Caspian and the monotony of Abbey's day-to-day life: eating, dressing, sleeping, rinse and repeat, etc.
I picked up a copy of the second book in the series, The Haunted, when I first bought The Hollow. And now, after reading The Hollow, I'm fairly certain I'll be returning The Haunted to the library unread.
