I usually love a good single-dad cowboy romance, but I think it's kind of hard to root for a relationship when the FMC actually despises kids. Don't get me wrong, as someone who will hopefully be childfree by choice forever, it just makes no sense to pair someone like that with a single dad. Def an interesting choice from the author. It obviously ended up resolving itself, but I feel like the FMC didn’t need to hate kids THAT much.
That was the main reason I couldn't fully enjoy the book most of the time. The rest of the story was just fine, but I wouldn’t ever gravitate toward it again.
(Spoiler warning: The one redeeming thing was that in the epilogue, we see the two MCs never had kids of their own, because that would’ve felt like such a betrayal.)
