In the Garden of Echo by H.S. Wolfe

2.25

I liked the concept of this one a lot more than the actual writing, which is sad to say, because I was pretty excited when i read about the contents. Even the erotica contained a bunch of stuff that is usually extremely up my alley, but didn't do anything for me. I think I failed to feel interested in these characters, the smut lacked personality, and the writing wasn't robust enough to keep up with the concepts. Also, chapter 11 felt deeply unecessary and took me out of the pacing of the whole thing. But I did enjoy the 2nd half more than the 1st.

All in all, I think this author has good, bold ideas. But I would like to see them develop their craft more. Because I absolutely could have loved a book like this. And I see the potential. But this isn't it. Not yet.
