I really enjoyed this duology. It gave me the Norse mythos I was looking for, as well as a Fae romantasy. As with the first book, the story and descriptions were amazing, but it still fell a little short with dialog.
I liked that the maiden in distress took care of herself and bested the males most of the time, and the MMC was there as an equal support.
New perspectives were introduced in this book, and it gave us a well round picture of what was happening all over the realm. Erik’s POV was a good foil to Vali’s, showing the difference between a controlling “love” and a pure love. I enjoyed seeing Seela discover and accept who she is outside of her blood bond to Vali, and finding her own kinds of love.
It all came together at Ragnarock, and I liked the take on how the prophecies were fulfilled. I was a little disappointed that
Vali lost his powers when his mortality latched onto Ailsa’s when they renewed their Fraendi bond
, but it does give them a peaceful ending, though with these two I’m sure they’ll find more adventures.
