dillemmah 's review for:
It's Not Summer Without You
by Jenny Han
This book felt very much like a middle book.
That being said this book dealt with much heavier topics than the first book.
This book deals a lot with grief, alcoholism, depression and anxiety which I really wasn't expecting going into this. I knew that Susannah's death was going to be a heavy topic and that grief was going to be present but I did not expect the dark turn this book takes. That is not to say this isn't well written. There is a reason Jenny Han is such a prolific author. She knows what she is doing.
The plot was a little thin with this book but it was so short and enjoyable it really didn't matter much.
Once summer truly hits I want to finish off this series.
