robschertzer 's review for:
Life After Life
by Kate Atkinson
If you could re-live your life, would you change anything?
As most people know from all the reviews and comments, this is about Ursula who keeps re-living her life, ending it at different points each time. Interestingly some times the consequences are more significant than other times.
The book is very well written though I got lost at times. I think this was by design as even for Ursula, some things are distant memories or deja-vu moments and we are left feeling the same way as readers.
As much of this is set between WWI and WWII, and includes the fate of mankind, it's a good read for those interested in historical fiction. Others who might like it would be those who think the movie Inception was brilliant as this book too is very much like a dream within a dream within a dream.
Happy reading!
