mscitrus 's review for:
Amelia Unabridged
by Ashley Schumacher
I received this book as part of a giveaway, and I'm so glad that I did! I'm not great at writing reviews, but I'll try and put some thoughts down cause it certainly deserves it. I finished it over two days and had a lot of trouble putting it down (and thank god I'm working from home so I could pick it back up the moment my day ended).
I do want to say that I normally try and avoid anything that heavily features hetero romance. And mostly, I'm saying that because I want to emphasize how much I loved this book and everything it did despite it going against my usual tastes. The book had a great balance of sadness, happiness, and all the other strange emotions that come with grief. I loved the writing, too, and the voice felt perfect for Amelia. I'm definitely above the YA target audience in age, but it captured those teenage years and the growing pains just after high school perfectly.
Also, unrelated, but the cover is absolutely gorgeous.
