This is one of my all-time favorite reads. I was instantly swept into a world that felt familiar and magical all at once. The character relationships with each other are nuanced. The main character's relationship with his family and his clan is so complicated. As a minority, I related to how he felt, despite his issues not stemming from race at all. The love story was amazing. Their chemistry felt so natural. I also really loved the depiction of the masculine characters as strong but still tender and loving. I feel like you don't often see that in media.
Moderate: Violence, Xenophobia, Blood, Grief, Death of parent
Minor: Bullying
