2020 read:
I knew I'd read this one, but I had zero recollection so decided to reread it to set up the last Diane Capri book. It was interesting with a little more Reacher knowledge, and nice to see Garber alive. Also militias and conspiracy theories a little more of a thing than they were in the last months of Obama. The ending was a little weird and rushed, but all in all a decent read. "A buck gets ten" he'll say that a few thousand times.
2016 read:
An interesting crime thriller in that the "perp" was a Montana militia. I was recently thinking of Waco and when the militia were big in the news and how they really aren't anymore, so it was interesting to see them pop up in the 2nd Jack Reacher book. I found this to be well written, although I think some of the names were too similar and it unnecessarily made it harder to follow who was who. I also got a little lost in some of the bullet mechanics.
I knew Lee Child was a Brit-but it's still slightly surprising to see British English come out of Americans' mouths. "Soonest" was especially grating in this book.
Beginning to see a pattern in Reacher meets woman, works with/saves her, Reacher leaves woman. Will be interesting to see if that continues over the series.
