Congrats! This has every single modern romcom element I dislike:
  • flat characters
  • half hearted social justice messaging that is barely explored much less actually meaningful
  • Random representation thrown in to check off a few boxes but makes no genuine impact
  • Pop culture references that will date the book before it's even released plus make me cringe
  • An incredibly short timeframe for them to somehow be deeply in love and devoted by the end of (50% percent of the book is in 24 hours, the rest is less than a week)
  • Miscommunication
  • What little conflict there is can be solved with a thirty second conversation
  • No stakes
  • No point
  • No depth

I think I'm going to start watching seven year olds smack their dolls' faces together while making kissy noises, because at least I know there will be drama and a compelling story
