It took me a while to get through, but it was good. I'm really curious for the next instalment! Vis is a bit of a Mary Sue, because he's exceptionally good at everything he does. And that makes him a bit bland. The romance sucked, very: He was a boy, she was a girl. Can I make it any more obvious?- coded... and she was barely a character.

and you just know she's gonna betray him somewhere along the way

. Callidus is my favourite character

and he better turn up in the next book, I will not accept his death. Diago's dead father leaving something physical in the real world gives me hope that Callidus will somehow make a return

That ending tho... And there are so many questions unanswered and things unexplained. Let's see where the next book takes us!
