I liked the story and it was easy to follow. I liked the omninous vibe in the beginning of the book. You know that something is not being revealed to the kids and us, as the readers. I think this strengthens the message and the reveal. This books offers some beautiful descriptive scenes and depiction of emotions.
Even though I liked all of the characters and the character dynamics, I didn't feel super connected to the main character, Kathy. I don't know exactly why. I think this is a personal issue.
In short, it is a beautiful story worth reading!
