this was more delightful that i initially expected, and incredibly touching as well. i love that this book didn't just coast on the surface level tropes and dynamics of enemies to lovers fake dating stuff, but that it really took the time to examine the budding relationship, and the protag's real and conflicting feelings about being in love. the setting was fun and really grounded, as were the rest of the characters. i really enjoyed the balance quindlen struck with the romance but also with the subplots involving each characters friends and family.

i dont love the use of cr*zy in the title, and honestly think it would've been easy to come up with something else. i also got quite frustrated with one of the antagonists and how there didn't seem to be any repercussions or proper confrontation of their shitty actions, but oh well. it was also really weird, imo, that cheerleading was somehow not regarded as athletic/a "real" sport by the school populace.
