First of all, where do I find an Adam Carlsen? Tall, broody, arsehole with dark hair, perfection! Especially because he's the right type of arsehole, he's an arsehole with a good heart. That's the most important part, by the end of the book when I'd learnt more about him I'd come to respect him.
Olive Smith is also the kind of woman I'd love to be friends with, she's strong, smart and funny. She didn't allow all the horrible things in life to knock her down which made me respect her. I really wanted to give her a hug through most of the book. That girl deserved the world. I really connected with her, when she was sad I was sad, when she was happy I was happy.
When everything was falling apart, as they do in books, I was so emotionally invested that I had to pause the book and walk away. This just shows how good the writing by Ali Hazelwood was and how well Callie Dalton's narrating was as well. I just loved every minute of it.
