What a great little book.
If you're trying to understand someone in your life, trying to understand yourself or just want to expand on your knowledge of the ever expanding lgbtq+ community, this is a great jumping off point.
I really appreciated the care that went into this book and the emphasis that the labels and definitions are not perfect/are always changing as our understanding does. I also really appreciated the correct definitions for bisexual and pansexual. So often they're defined very strictly (or incorrectly) which can be distressing.
I think using snails and 'sproutlings' to create the characters finding their identities/learning about how to be compassionate to others was very clever.
There's a dating advice section that I really think applies to everyone. I wish a book like this was available to me and my peers (regardless of gender or sexuality). Similar books about self expression, dating, puberty etc just don't have the openness and care that this one does.
