Dreadful Company by Vivian Shaw

Thorougly enjoying this series - in fact, immediately went and got book three and started reading it. Again you have the excellent Greta Helsing getting herself into and out of (by herself, without any need to be rescued, thankyouverymuch) interesting predicaments. Most of the action takes place in Paris, and has a few interesting homages to Phantom of the Opera that I very much enjoyed. Edward Ruthven and Sir Francis Varney are again involved in the action, along with some new characters - the werewolf sort of in charge of Paris, the demon sort of in charge of Paris (both of them a bit lax at the moment), a variety of vampires, ghosts, small furry and squelchy monsters, and surprise visits from one or two old friends. And a pair of remedial psychopomps that you'll just have to read about for yourselves. What are you waiting for?
