Winnie Davis: Daughter of the Lost Cause by Heath Hardage Lee

emotional informative reflective medium-paced

3.75

This was a well-documented synopsis of the life of Winnie Davis, who unfortunately met a very heartbreaking demise at a young age. I appreciate that the author told her story with interest and intrigue, while citing a number of resources to guarantee as much accuracy as possible. While I have very little respect for Winnie's father's legacy, I felt a connection with and empathy toward Winnie, who bore many burdens that were not of her own choosing.
