Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez
4.0
Ahh, my first Abby Jimenez book. I was so afraid to read her books considering how much hype they get but boy am I glad I did because I will never see contemporary romance books the same. The way she covers mental health in this book so well had my emotions all over the place. One moment I was smiling and giggling and the next I found myself angry and teary-eyed. We all can’t ignore the J-named man, Justin. I have never known a J-named man to be so aware of his own personal impact on those around him so much so that he sacrifices his own dreams and aspirations for others. The individual problems that each of these characters have feel so real that I couldn’t help but connect and empathize with them. The way Abby Jimenez incorporated Justin into Emma into each other’s lives was more than just a curse-breaking cure, they fit so well that it felt like they were helping each other in such hard times in their personal lives. It was beautiful and I can not wait to be teary eyed over another one of her books.
