Too Many Moose by Lisa Bakos

4.0

This is a bright colorful picture book that tells the story of Martha who wants a pet, and after consulting many books, settles on a Moose.

Here she is when she has one moose.

And she finds she loves having one moose, well then, why not have more. And so, she orders more and more moose.

And here she is with her army of moose.

But, just as in Star Trek where too many tribbles caused problems, the same thing happens with the moose, and so the girl had to send them all packing. All but her original moose. The end.

Lovely use of alliteration. I do think this book would make a good story time book, as the letters fall off the tongue. I would recommend it for bedtime stories or group reads with a teacher or librarian.

Does it make sense that the girl is allowed to keep ordering moose? Does it make sense that there are no parents around to ask what is going on? Does it make sense that moose want to mamba all night. Nope, none of it does. It is just a silly fun book, and it doesn't have to make sense.

Thanks to NetGalley for making this book available for an hones review.
