Julie E Ann’s writing is not doing it for me anymore. She has good plots but the way she’s executing them is getting on my nerves. The last few books that I read of hers, all of them contain cheating. And I hate it. Unnecessary angst. The emotional aspect of the story kinda gets lost in her fast paced and witty writing. Sooooo I’m afraid this is the last straw for me. Not picking her books anymore.
As for this book, I didn’t get the connection between the MCs from the beginning. That insta love and fun and flirty relationship is not my thing. So I was not invested in their relationship. I didn’t feel that deep love so I didn’t feel sorry for their current state.
Also, how can this woman hate her husband for so long? Punish him like this? Even if it was his fault, how could she demean his pain at the loss of their child? Proves that she never loved him in the first place.
And yes, at first I rated this book 2 but now I’m lowering it to 1 because cheating is a big no no for me.
