My first I Survived book, and I loved it! Read fast like a snappy screenplay! Even though it moved incredibly fast in the 89 total pages, it still managed to create some pretty endearing characters.

Lauren Tarshis also got pretty darn detailed about the environment of the world at that time, and didn’t shy away from the brutality that accompanied the main character and his sister trying to escape to freedom.
