picked up this novel because I’m joining a book club at @bookcellarchicago and this was their read of the month!
That said, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. This is the kind of historical fiction I can get behind, San Francisco in the 50s + 60’s with a focus on the political turmoil of the red scare and the unrest with gay persecution as well.
The main character is a young gay, with little understanding of what’s happening around her- as an adult reading this book I found it interesting the ways in which the world was explained to her, from her friends and family.
I will absolutely be reading more from this author!!
