Never Have I Ever by Isabel Yap

4.0

Solid collection of stories! I think I found another auto-buy author hahaha. Top 5 stories for me would be:
1. Asphalt, River, Mother, Child - I like how Isabel Yap played with the concept of innocence in this one, especially when you consider who Mebuyen is and what she does. (So many lives were taken in the drug war. I pray that justice will be served.)
2. Have You Heard the One About Anamaria Marquez? - I felt cold all over while reading this, especially near the end!!!
3. A Spell for Foolish Hearts - Patrick is such a relatable character lol. Although I've predicted some of the plot points, it didn't really take away from the reading experience since Patrick's reactions were the best lol. The kilig moments in this one is just *chef's kiss*
4. A Canticle for Lost Girls - Literal power of friendship. I love it. Literally said "dasurv" when the thing happened. Perfect last story.
5. Milagroso - The dread! The anxiety! The feeling of helplessness despite the happy occasion! Pak!

Can't wait to read more of Isabel Yap's work~
