i’m genuinely distraught that that is over.
first of all? this book is GUT WRENCHINGLY SAD. i was sobbing like a freaking baby for multiple minutes at multiple points in time.
second of all? this story is absolutely the most heartbreaking story i have ever read. watching joey fall victim over and over again to his horrendous father and mother (yes she’s a victim too) as well as what he had to endure from darren once he finally decided to show up? barely anybody in the planet could keep it together after that, and he somehow pushed through.
thirdly, aoife molloy you are super woman in my eyes. i am obsessed w her, her strength, her unrelenting love for joey, and at the same time i wanted to WHACK joey upside the head for what he was doing to her and to himself!!! the things she endured that we didn’t know about in binding and keeping 13 make her an actual angel and the strongest FMC i’ve ever had the pleasure of reading about. their little family is something so special to me and i think that, as messed as it is, they will thrive because of AJ.
lastly, their love for eachother is palpable. the things they would say to eachother??? the love confessions in this book? holy hell i thought i would PUKE at how much emotion they evoked out of me.
i will think abt joey and aoife until forever.
“ill be seeing ya molloy”
