When in Rome by Sarah Adams

Did not finish book. Stopped at 35%.
I'd read Sarah's other book, 'The Cheat Sheet' and while it was a bit cringe-y and childish, I still enjoyed it and wanted to give this one a try. Oh BUT

Something about this book gave me a completely different vibe, kind of sad and depressing. Which is understandable with what the FMC was going through, but it wasn't something I enjoyed. I was going into this thinking it was be very sweet and comforting. Although, I didn't really go further than the 100 page mark so that may have changed.

The main character was also just kind of weird, and not in a good way. I didn't really like her and was rolling my eyes at some of the stuff she thought and said. I just felt uncomfortable being in her mind, especially with the kind of weird and cringe-y descriptions she gave of Noah just because he was attractive to her. And also what was her obsession with describing his eyes???

And Noah also just seemed kind of rude for no reason?? He kind of treated the FMC poorly, especially because he didn't even know her that well or had any reason not to like her. I get that he had some kind of trauma and he was ment to be 'grumpy', but in honesty he was just rude. It felt like everybody in the book was kind of just shrugging it off and excusing it.

Little disappointed, but might be somebody else's cup of tea. Besides, I couldn't get very far in so maybe it got better? Idk
