I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter
by Erika L. Sánchez
Much darker and sadder than I expected (wait why didn't I expect it to be dark and sad?) A heartrending portrayal of families and the missed connections that happen every day of our lives. Julia was a complicated narrator to follow, but when the full picture of her circumstances was revealed the author's craft at drawing us into her story becomes even more compelling.
