The Memory Collectors
by Dete Meserve
THE MEMORY COLLECTORS immediately drew me in with its intriguing premise (no surprise there, given my recent streak of time travel reads). I did a tandem read with the audiobook and enjoyed the full cast narration, though I occasionally confused the two female POV voices.
The story follows four strangers, Elizabeth, Logan, Andy, and Brooke, each traveling back in time for deeply personal reasons tied to loss, regret, and longing. I loved how their individual storylines quickly intertwined and propelled the narrative forward. That said, the novel leans more toward character-driven mystery than sci-fi. It thoughtfully explores themes of grief, guilt, and closure. The unfolding twists kept me engaged, though I felt the emotional tone and romantic subplot towards the end lost me a bit. Overall, I thought this was a memorable and compelling read. I think fans of The Poppy Fields or The Midnight Library would really enjoy it!
Rating: I really liked it 👍🏼
