"We can choose where we go and what we do, and no one, not even the gods, can stop us, because we are the undated. We make our own destiny. Together."

I really enjoyed the world building and the magic system in this. It's a decent read for anyone that likes historical fiction and fantasy.

The FMC Freya does irritate me a lot through the course of the plot. I find her character a bit annoying with her internal dialogue. Her multiple personality thing also I felt came out of left field but now that I have read the ending of the book it makes a bit of sense.

I wish there was more of a slow-burn sense for the romance. I needed a bit more than 'lust' between Freya and the MMC and I'm hoping the second book gives me more of the enemies-to-lovers vibe that I'm so in love with. (11/2024)

Overall, 4 out of 5 stars, contemplating changing it to 3.5.....
