Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes

A fable which follows Bambi’s life from birth into old age, as he is exposed to life in the forest and the dangers and sorrows that come with it. Salten touches on fear, danger, loss, isolation, nostalgia, self discovery, responsibility, and purpose. Salten also uses “Him” as a metaphor for human kind, to highlight humanity’s greed, sense of entitlement, and the resulting turmoil inflicted on nature, written beautifully from the perspective of another species, to truly showcase the horrors and crimes human kind regularly commits against nature.
