This was my first read by this author. I was intrigued by the blurb and I went in not knowing much else. And..well, I got to chapter two and it made me ugly cry. This book pulled at all of my emotions. It dealt with very heavy topics, but I think Natasha did a great job with them. Dakota was such a strong fmc especially when it came to her girls, my heart ached for her whenever I would get to her POV. I haven’t read the book before this as I know this is book two; but I will say - Christopher is my favorite. He kept showing up, and checking in - even when he wouldn’t get anything back. It was the slowest burn, and it was SO good. The debating crossing that line, while also dealing with so much emotion and guilt. It was definitely an emotional read but one of my favorites.
