I read this book aloud to my 9yo, and we had a good time with it. There were maybe more main characters to follow than the kiddo could keep track of with reading only a chapter or 2 per night, but we still had fun making predictions and thinking about the story. Honestly, my only problem with this book is the title: it’s not really relevant to the story, but phase 2 of The High Republic is called “Quest of the Jedi” so I feel like they may have been pigeon-holed into the title. Silandra and Rooper are my favorite Phase 2 Jedi, so even if I found the book a bit predictable, seeing more of these characters was completely worth it. Also, as it gets to the end, it verges on horror which, I do suggest not ending your reading to a child at bedtime on one of the scarier chapters, ha.
