Dark Space by Lisa Henry
5.0
This was a pleasant surprise, sci fi, futuristic world but still incredibly relatable when it comes to human behavior and interactions. This "new world" is built into the story line in a subtle way. You discover it through their interactions. I really liked that, sometime science fiction novels go into so much detail to describe the setting that you lose touch with the characters and the actual story. Lisa Henry doesn't do that, the setting descriptions are minimal but effective in creating the world around the main characters.
Now Cam and Brady, the MC's, they're interesting, their discovery of each other is sweet and messed up all at once. This is just the beginning for them... at least I think so I have yet to read the summary of Dark Space#2 but it seems like this is unfinished story, just the beginning really. I barely scratched the surface of their romance but Lisa Henry has built strong, fleshed out characters that I am eager to learn more about and can't wait for their HEA.
I can't end this without mentioning the writing itself... Lisa Henry has skills. MM Romances with great writing are rare, it's a pleasure to read one so well written.
