Barbarian Mine by Ruby Dixon
4.0
I loved Harlow and Rukh's story! It had a lot of elements that I adored in [b:Transcendence|20504754|Transcendence (Transcendence, #1)|Shay Savage|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1391320052l/20504754._SY75_.jpg|34802286] by Shay Savage. I loved that Rukh was a super wild caveman and the two had a language barrier to overcome - but that Ruby Dixon didn't make me sit through every agonising minute of learning a new language.
We also got to see a lot more of the planet and what it might hold!
My main problem with this is that Harlow didn't feel like the Harlow we got to know in previous books. In those books she felt like a badass mechanical engineer but she feels like a different character entirely here. Granted, she's spending a lot of time in a cave, but the characterisation felt off.
