Deeply disturbing. Amazingly written. The POV of the main character is upsettingly immersive. One of those books that I had to process for a while after reading. While this book is an important work, it wasn't enjoyable to read. I had to force it down every step of the way. But not all art is meant to be enjoyed. Some is meant to make you uncomfortable. This art in particular does exactly that.
