Always Crashing in the Same Car: On Art, Crisis, and Los Angeles, California by Matthew Specktor

I loved this book a lot. Despite not exactly connecting with his prose or always agreeing with his opinions/insights, it was refreshing to read a book with this much heart and overall loving the worldview. By looking at specific writers/filmmakers who’s lives touched Hollywood in different ways and were negatively impacted if not outright ruined by the culture there, it shines an empathetic light on great artists attempts to deal with failure.
