šŸ‰ ā€˜Heartstopper’ by Alice Oseman

(Btw, Alice Oseman is my newest favorite contemporary YA author šŸ™ˆ, even though this is her first series I’ve read!)

🄁 I got introduced to this series when the Netflix trailer of the TV Adaptation dropped a week ago and I was hooked! I had seen this series a couple of times on people’s shelves, but all that ever crossed my mind was that its name, ā€˜Heartstopper’, was quite intriguing. I didn’t even know that it was a graphic novel šŸ˜‚!

šŸ‰ After I watched the trailer, I fetched all the volumes of the series released so far, and I read all 4 volumes in 3.5 hours in one night, in one sitting!! So you can fairly well imagine my obsession 😬.

🄁 These characters are so incredible and relatable. I adore the relationship between Nick and Charlie, which is far beyond any physicality, it’s pure and sweet. Nick struggles with his confusion about his feelings and coming out to his friends and family. Charlie is very supportive while they’re both a bit confused about what their relationship is. It’s innocent and fun to read. I also enjoyed reading about the other characters and their dynamics in this story, though they started appearing more in the third and fourth volumes.

šŸ‰ I love Alice Oseman’s illustrations and writing and can’t wait to read more of her books! For those of you who didn’t know, she writes books featuring LGBTQIA+ MCs and her stories are so refreshing!

🄁 The 2nd Volume was my favourite among the four I’ve read so far. The fifth (and final 😢) installment of ā€˜Heartstopper’ is supposed to release this year, but I guess the release date hasn’t been announced yet. I just hope that by some unworldly miracle, Alice Oseman decides to continue further with this series because I want to read so much more of Nick and Charlie šŸ¤šŸ¤!

(P.S. In case you’re wondering why I used drums and rugby ball emojis, read the books to find out šŸ˜‰)
